In the early 2000s, he sang tenor in a college a cappella group and played his acoustic guitar at local coffee shops. Raef was introduced to the national stage after his trio rock-band "Great Seneca" toured the United States as part of the "Voices for Change" initiative. Shortly afterwards, Raef joined the "Poetic Vision Tour" - a band of traveling musicians and poets dedicated to inspiring a spiritual and cultural renewal. More recently, Raef started working with Awakening Records and in 2014 released his debut album "The Path" , a collection of songs that reflects his identity as an American Muslim and his journey throughout the years.

--------------
Your Mercy Lyrics:

They warned him before but he wouldn't listen
He left this world and had no chance to stay
The time that we spent... it seems so frozen...
But now it's far too late you've passed away :(

Every night you cry yourself to sleep
Thinking: "Why does this happen to me?"
"Why does every moment have to be so hard?"
Hard to believe it!

Down on my knees tonight,
Ya Rabbee (My Lord) one more chance to make it right!
I may not make it through the night
I won't give up on Your mercy!

Through every test, I'll never get over
My actions and my thoughts kept me awake
The weight of the things that remained unspoken
Built up so much it crushed me everyday

Every night you cry yourself to sleep
Thinking: "Why does this happen to me?"
"Why does every moment have to be so hard?"
Hard to believe it!

Down on my knees tonight,
Ya Rabbee (My Lord) one more chance to make it right!
I may not make it through the night
I won't give up on Your mercy!

Down on my knees tonight,
Ya Rabbee (My Lord) one more chance to make it right!
I may not make it through the night
I won't give up on Your mercy!

Of all the things I felt but never really shown
Perhaps the worst is that I ever let it go
I should have never let it go!

Down on my knees tonight,
Ya Rabbee (My Lord) one more chance to make it right!
I may not make it through the night
I won't give up on Your mercy!

It's not over tonight,
Ya Rabbee (My Lord) one more chance to make it right!
I may not make it through the night
I won't give up on Your mercy!
I won't give up on Your mercy!
I won't give up on Your mercy!
No, I won't give up on Your mercy!

Music/Arrangement : Hamza Namira
Cover Lyrics : Omar N.
